Open shoot for Creatives.
JUST PAY ME.
We invited a handful of creatives to a private photoshoot to discuss times where they felt undervalued and underpaid. We sparked important dialogue around the topic of unfair pay and the lack of opportunities due to skin color (being brown/black) and gender (being a woman). A lot of raw emotion was shared. Maybe after hearing some of these stories it’ll encourage others to share their stories as well.- Vinton Vital

“Creative jobs already get looked down upon from non creative people as if they don’t hold as much value or validity in the work force .. Then there’s the elite and social media that make it even harder to get recognition and worthy pay for your craft if you’re not popular enough, even if your talent and work ethic surpass those higher up on the totem pole. It takes an incredible amount of dedication, sacrifice and hard work to do these creative jobs. Overworked and underpaid is an understatement, but that changes now. Cut the check. ”

“Being told to correct my email etiquette to make someone else feel comfortable when I wasn’t in the wrong nor did I type anything offensive. Being told by my former manager to ‘bite the bullet’ when someone in a higher position disrespects me.”
JUST PAY ME.
